History
The Law Firm Mohorade Serravalle Mainero Santarcángelo – Abogados, was founded in 1896 by Dr. Pedro Mohorade.
Since its inception, it has specialized in maritime and aeronautical law, in land transport by rail and truck, in insurance and in tort law.
Its traditional offices at 412 Sarmiento Street, 4th floor, in the heart of the city of Buenos Aires, are where the main economic, financial and insurance activity of the Argentine Republic is located.
His experience, ability to adapt to the needs of his clients, the cordial and personalized attention and the quality of his services are highlights that have distinguished the Firm’s professional work for more than a century.
Pedro Mohorade (1868-1949)
He was the pioneer, the one who began the law firm activity at the end of the XIX century. He was lawyer, War Marine Officer and First Director on the National Nautical School of the Argentine Republic. He passed away in 1949.
Alfredo Mohorade (1925-2001)
Born Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 13, 1925. Education: National University of Buenos Aires. Admitted to Buenos Aires Bar 1947. He obtained the degree as a Doctor in 1969. He was the Legal Manager of a shipping company named Flota Fluvial del Estado Argentino (Brown Waters Fleet of the Argentinean State) in the sixties, former Professor of Navigation Law of the University of Buenos Aires, University of La Plata and Argentinean University of the Enterprise (U.A.D.E). He also gave classes in the Professional Insurance School and in the National Nautical School of the Argentine Republic. He was former adviser of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works and former consultant of United Nations. He was member of the Comité Maritime International, Ibero-American Institute of Aeronautical Law, Latin American Association of Aeronautical Law, Maritime Law Association of Argentina, Honorary President Maritime Law Association of Uruguay and Member corresponding of UNIDROIT. He was a founder member of the Maritime Studies Institute. He was speaker in seminars and courses, he was the author of works and books about shipping and maritime law, insurance, arbitration, among other subjects. He attended different seminars and courses. Martín Mario Isola (1921-2014)
Born Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 11, 1921. Education: National University of Buenos Aires. Admitted to Buenos Aires Bar 1952. Former Lawyer of the Argentine National Bank and the Fluvial Fleet of the Argentinean State. He attended different seminars and courses. Practice Areas: Insurance Law, Civil Liability Law, Recoveries, Transportation Law, Contract Law, Third Party Liabilities. Language: French. He joined the legal firm in 1963. He passed away in 2014.
